All we supply is based on our own experience - a much over-used word in this field but not in this case. We have first-hand experience of vintage, historic and modern engines for road or competition use. SERDI UK personnel honed their skills on many engines which are as successful today in historic motorsport as they were when they first contributed to their original successes.
The Dormer name has long been known in the trade before forming the present Company in 1987. Reg Dormer, formed Hillthorne Engineering in 1958 and worked for several works teams at Le Mans and such races during the sixties. The reputation of Hillthorne’s engine machining and preparation work was rapidly established, as more and more clients enjoyed increasing levels of success.
That provided the platform to form SERDI UK which continued that growth. Now run by Reg’s son John, he and his team (which includes Reg who is still “hands on”) bring more than 100 years’ experience to their business. Everything offered – whether machinery, services or components – is aimed at those who are serious about their work as a competition engine builder, an engine re-manufacturer or in precision engineering or historic race car preparation and restoration… As can be seen from the trade customer list. Some items and services (but by no means all) may not be the cheapest, but the failure of one small component can negate hours of work and cost cutting.
